Ta Susiwati, dressed in a bright orange blouse, steered us through the meeting.
Opening Address by Club President
Soh Siew Wee narrated the episode of the man, his son and the donkey. They were in a dilemma each time remarks were made by passers-by, as to who should be riding the donkey. “There is no right or wrong. Don’t wait for the perfect chance to come. Be decisive, which many of us are not. No action is worse than a wrong action. Don’t feel regret. Step forward.” reminded the club President.
Krishnan Venugopal, in AP1 The Briefing (Speeches by Management), “Anatomic Therapy” shared about blood, intestines and functions of the cells.
“My Grandpa and I” was Lian Jinxing’s P1 Ice Breaker Speech
Rajkumar Murugan shared much about himself in his P1 Ice Breaker “This is My Story.”
“Reading is a Pleasure” was Darren Lim’s P4 How You Say It speech.
Li Hairong in her P7 Research Your Topic touched on cholesterol in “Getting to Know You Better.”
Karinna Boey in her P8 Get Comfortable with Visual Aids spoke on our four sources of water in “Our Living Sources”.

Successful Club Series ~ Roles & Responsibilities of Club Offices
A timely presentation to encourage and persuade members to step up to serve in the Executive Committee 2013-2014 was presented by Albert Anto. Election of office bearers will be at our Annual General Meeting on 11th May 2013.
Fun with Table Topics
Teh Yun Ling dished out three groups of words and each speaker was to connect and string them into a logical and meaningful impromptu speech.
Krishnan, Susiwati, Darren, Albert, Ravi and Robert Chen participated.
Lau Kwong Fook from NUS Alumni TMC was down with conjunctivitis. Richard Sng took over. A root “-itis” (meaning inflammation) was introduced. Speakers were educated on how knowing a root, their vocabulary can be widened. Examples given include: arthritis, appendicitis, encephalitis, tendonitis, tonsillitis, rhinitis, urethritis, and “authoritis” (coined by the Language Evaluator).
Lian Jinxing doubled up as the timekeeper.
Soh Siew Wee exercised her listening skill.

Members, your presence, assistance and support, as highlighted by our Club President, are needed to add colour and variety to the meeting and atmosphere.
